Privacy policy

This policy covers the AI Markdown Copier extension for Chrome ("the extension"), built and supported by Michael Costa, trading as White Hat Harbor ("we"). In short: the extension converts pages on your computer, puts the result on your clipboard or in a file you save, keeps what it saves on your computer, and sends nothing about your browsing to us or anyone else. The only network service it talks to is Polar, and only to check a Pro license key.
What the extension reads
Only when you click its toolbar icon, choose one of its right-click menu items, or press its keyboard shortcut, and only on that tab, the extension reads the page as it is shown in your browser (its text, structure, links, image addresses, title and a few metadata tags such as the author and publication date) or the text you selected, and converts it to Markdown. This happens in your browser. The result is shown in the popup, copied to your clipboard, or saved as a file where you choose; the page itself is not changed.
If you use Pro's Copy all tabs and allow it, the extension also reads the titles, addresses and content of the tabs in that window that you choose, the same way. By default it gives up that access as soon as the document is made.

What you copy goes only where you paste it. If you paste it into an AI chat, that service's own privacy policy applies to it.
Payments and Polar
Pro is sold through Polar, which is the merchant of record: it runs checkout, takes payment and handles sales tax. When you buy Pro you give your email address and payment details to Polar directly, on its pages, under its own terms (Polar privacy policy). Polar emails you a license key. When you enter the key, and when you open the popup or copy from the menu or shortcut after that, the extension sends the key, and nothing else, to Polar to check it is still active. We receive your email address, plan and payment status from Polar, to support you and handle refunds. We never see your card details, and Polar is never told which pages you copy.
What we don't do
- No analytics, tracking, advertising or telemetry, and no servers of our own.
- We don't sell, share or transfer data about you, except as needed for payments above.
- We don't use data for creditworthiness or lending, or for any purpose unrelated to the extension's single purpose.
- The extension loads no code from the internet; everything it runs ships inside it.
The use of information received from Chrome APIs adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Deleting your data
Removing the extension deletes everything it stored on your computer; Clear history in the popup deletes the history alone. To cancel Pro, click Pro ✓ in the popup to open Polar's customer portal. To have Polar's record of your purchase deleted, or to ask us anything about your data, email support@whitehatharbor.com.
